ELA . Pronouns

When a pronoun refers to another noun, the noun is called the antecedent. Both the pronoun and antecedent must match in gender and number.

For instance,

  • Lily passed the test because she studied for it.
  • Tom is from Peru. He speaks Spanish.
  • The Smiths live next door.  They have four dogs.
