A plural noun names more than one person, place, or thing.
- Add -s to most singular nouns to make them plural: pencil, pencils.
- Add -es to singular nouns that end in -s, -ss, -sh, -ch, -x, or -z: class, classes.
- Change the y to i and add -es to most singular nouns that end in a consonant and y: party, parties.
- Add -s to singular nouns that end in a vowel and y: boy, boys.
