一天,有個新弟子私下問他:「師兄,做了那麼多壞事,真的可以洗掉嗎?」
鴦掘摩羅望著晨光,平靜地說:「不是一蹴而就,而是每一天都選擇善,每一念都專注於正道。過去的影響慢慢淡去,心就能自由。」
弟子點點頭,心裡感受到力量。原來,改變不一定是轟轟烈烈,而是在每一個日常中,穩定而堅持。
English Version: Angulimala’s Daily Practice
Morning light filtered through the treetops onto the small courtyard of the monastery.
Angulimala, once a feared killer, had become a monk. He walked the stone path in the early morning, his steps steady and light.
The disciples whispered, “He was so terrifying before. How did he become like this?”
Angulimala smiled faintly. He no longer feared nor cared about others’ eyes. Every day he cleaned the monastery, cared for the sick, and chanted silently, focusing on good deeds.
One day, a new disciple asked him quietly, “Brother, can all those bad deeds really be erased?”
Angulimala gazed at the morning light, calm:
“Not in a single day. It’s choosing good each day, focusing on right thought each moment. The past slowly fades, and the mind becomes free.”
The disciple nodded, feeling the power of change. Transformation does not need to be dramatic; it happens steadily in daily life.
